    Thoughts on Best Center Speaker

Considering a set of Triad Silvers for a 5.1.2 setup.

Silver LCR's for L/R, Silver Rounds for Atmos, Silver On Wall Surrounds for rear (no room for side speakers).

My dilemma is my A/V shelf unit. The shelf below the TV is open 6 3/4", the bottom shelf is 8".

Would a Mini LCR work well on the middle shelf or a Bronze Center on the bottom shelf (a couple of inches off the floor) work well with the rest of the system Silver?

Trying to avoid buying a new A/V shelf unit.

    Thanks!

Could you first tell me the size of your room? (WDH). Depending on the room size, you may be okay with a Bronze system. If this is the case, then you have a couple of options. Also, please post a photo of your media unit and TV.

    1. Install an inCeiling Bronze/8 LCR for the Center Channel (recommended if possible)

    2. Use the Bronze Center Channel speaker on the bottom shelf

The room is roughly 20' L x 21' W. The listening area is 20' L x 11' W. A/V unit to couch is about 11'. Would the center be too low on the bottom shelf to be effective? I'll look into the inCeiling version as well.

    What is the ceiling height?

I ran the numbers and you would be fine with Bronze LCRs. I also did the calculations for using an InCeiling Bronze LCR and you are in good shape there as well for an 11 foot seating distance.

I would much rather see you go with the IC LCR than put the speaker that close to the ground without the ability to aim it upwards.

One other option would be to build a wood stand that would hold the TV and allow for the LCR to sit underneath.
