The speakers are not magnetically shielded so I would keep them a greater distance away -- at least a foot.

    Definitely Option 4.

I recently received my first set of Triad speakers, three Bronze LCRs, thanks to Dawn at Egret Electronics.

    They were packaged very well.

I had a chance to hook them up for a few minutes to test them out with some music. They will only be used for movies, but it was easier to test them with some music at this time.
They are in perfect working order and sound very good, not to mention having a solid build.

It was a good choice to go with Triad and Dawn.

I am looking forward to getting the rest of the Triad speakers for my theatre system at some point.

Hi from the top end of Australia,

Im about to embark on construction of a new home and I'm looking to use Triad speakers in a dedicated home theatre room. The room is 5.5m long and 3.6m wide and 2.7m high.

I will attach some pics of a sketch model i have made for reference. Im looking at a 7.1.4 Initially but upgrading to 7.2.4 down the road.

My preference is to use Triad Silver/4 inwall LCR's at the front, Triad inwall Silver/4 Surrounds for Rear and Side Surrounds and Inceiling Silver sealed Rounds for Atmos

Im not sure which sub to use for this setup so would love a recommendation on that.

My dilemma is this. As you can see from the sketchup pics the room has 2 x 45 degree angles on the rear wall and when i did the optimum Dolby Atmos recommended layout it positions the Front LR speakers are very close to the side wall and the rear surrounds either on the angled sections or the flat wall.

I have a number of questions and would be extremely grateful for some answers :-)

Any overall comments on the system would be most welcome :-)

Should I bring the Front LR speakers in so they aren't right in the corner?

Should I mount the centre front vertically or horizontally?

Should I place the Rear Surrounds on the flat wall or the angled wall?

Which Sub/s would compliment this set up the best?

Are you looking to use inwall subs from Triad?

If not, some popular options for in room subs that offer good value and excellent performance are made by companies such as SVS, Rhythmik Audio, Power Sound Audio, HSU Research (to name a few).

I have two SVS subs myself.

    Hi.

I would be happy to help.

I know you are thinking about going with a Silver system but your room's cubic square feet really calls for the Bronze Series.

    A few things:

    1. You really, really need to get the back row of seats further away from the back wall. You want to be at least 3-5 feet away if possible.

    2. Put the bipole side surrounds in-between the two rows

    3. Your room calls for two InWall Bronze/4 SlimSubs. To save some money you can buy two 8 ohm sub enclosures and use a single 300 or 700 watt rack amp to power them both. I would put the IW subs in diagonally opposing corners.

    4. Keep your front right and left LCRs at least 12-15" from the corners/side walls to reduce the chance of boundary effect.

    5. You want your center channel LCR installed vertically

    6. Do not use Rounds for Atmos speakers, as they do not have enough coverage for your seats.

    7. Keep all surrounds and LCRs as close to ear level as possible.

Here are the speakers I would recommend for your room:

    LCRs: InWall Bronze/4 LCRs
    Surrounds: InWall Bronze/4 Surrounds
    Atmos: InCeiling Bronze/8 Sat
Subs: (2) InWall Bronze/4 SlimSubs (8 ohm) with 700 watt RackAmp

If you want to substitute Silver Series for everything but the subs, you can, but you don't need to.

Awesome thanks so much for your help,

I was leaning towards the Silvers as my room size seemed to be on the border of what you quoted for the Bronze

If I was to go for Inroom Subs what would your recommendation be there?

    Thanks again

    Cheers

    Hi Kroc,

    (2) Triad InRoom OmniSub 12's would work very well and give you even more bass.
